Results are reported quarterly for routinely admitting teams, non-routinely admitting teams and non-acute inpatient teams. Here you can find a list of upcoming dates for data locking.
To ensure you receive a report you will need to make sure at least 20 records have been added and locked, and your team achieves 75% case ascertainment. The report looks at patients admitted and/or discharged in the reporting period. Your team’s quarterly expected cases figure is located here.
Case ascertainment:
Routinely admitting teams:
In the case of routinely admitting teams , an estimated number of cases in any one reporting period are provided to all the teams. In England this expected cases figure is based upon historical Hospital Episode Statistics (HES coding). If you have fewer admissions than usual, you can amend your expected cases.
More detailed guidance on how case ascertainment is calculated can be found by clicking here.
Non-routinely admitting teams and Non-acute inpatient teams:
For non-acute inpatient teams and non-routinely admitting teams, case ascertainment is calculated by comparing the number of patients arriving at a team with the number of patients leaving the team in a reporting period.
More detailed guidance on how case ascertainment is calculated can be found by clicking here.
Audit compliance:
Your team will receive an audit compliance score based on complete and timely data entry. Further information on audit compliance is available here.
SSNAP scores calculation:
Each inpatient team will receive an overall SSNAP score from A-E, calculated based on performance against the 44 key indicators and adjusted for case ascertainment and audit compliance. Information on how SSNAP scores are calculated is available here.
Where to find the results:
